Job Description

We are currently seeking experienced Personal Carers to support our clients with flexible, ongoing, and short-notice shifts.

About the Role

As a Personal Carer with NurseSA, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support across aged care, disability, and community settings. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assist clients with daily living needs while promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing.

Depending on the facility, your duties may include:

  • Assisting with personal care (showering, grooming, toileting, continence support)

  • Supporting residents with mobility, transfers, and safe manual handling

  • Assisting with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration

  • Observing and reporting changes in a resident’s health or behaviour

  • Providing social, emotional, and lifestyle support

  • Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting to senior nursing staff

  • Ensuring compliance with infection control, WHS, and facility protocols

  • Promoting client comfort, dignity, and independence at all times

About You

We are looking for dedicated PCAs who demonstrate:

  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for caring for others

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • The ability to work confidently under supervision

  • A professional, respectful, and resident-focused approach

  • Reliability, adaptability, and strong work ethic

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent

  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in aged care, disability, or community care

  • Current Manual Handling Certification

  • Current CPR Certificate

  • Up-to-date immunisation record (as per SA Health or facility requirements)

  • National Police Clearance and NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain)

  • COVID-19 and influenza vaccination evidence

Desirable:

  • Experience in dementia or challenging behaviours

  • Medication assistance competency (if applicable to the setting)
